In 2017, more organisations have shown interest in our work and have expressed interest to collaborate with us. By year end, we have sealed partnership deals with four universities, four government agencies and seven private entities. Along the way, we also established strategic relationships with many others in the ecosystem. Through these alliances, we identified unmet technology needs and worked on new areas of innovation, leveraging on each other’s expertise and resources. The following are our collaborations in 2017:
KIB became the first investment bank to work with MIMOS in accelerating knowledge exchange, proof-of-concept projects, field-testing and training. The collaboration opened opportunities to develop innovative FinTech products for the investment banking sector.
The MoU with UTeM was to conduct research, development, innovation and training, particularly in strengthening talent supply in semiconductor, microelectronics, nanoelectronics, advanced manufacturing and related technologies.
Both parties have agreed to work in developing Star Media Group's job-hunting platform, myStarjob, in the field of psychometrics.
The collaboration with NCIA was to establish the MIMOS-NCIA Advanced Competency Development Centre – an end-to-end, high-technology industry training facilities, primarily for the E&E sector geared towards moving into Industry 4.0.
MIMOS partnered with IRDA, the governing body responsible for the development of Iskandar Malaysia, in developing technologies for Smart City initiatives in the southern economic corridor.
The collaboration was to identify smart solutions relating to Smart City projects that would help citizens and authorities detect, mitigate and prevent threats to public safety.
MIMOS hardware and advanced electronics R&D unit, MIMOS Semiconductor (M) Sdn Bhd, signed a collaboration pact with UPSI to develop graphene electronic technology that will enhance both parties’ competitive advantage in technology applications, especially in advanced materials for electronic devices.
MIMOS and UNITAR signed a partnership on areas of mutual interests, which includes, among others, potential areas such as Big Data Analytics, Blockchain and Data Mining.
The MoU with UTP was to collaborate on a range of activities involving Industry 4.0 technologies including in the areas of oil and gas, Internet of Things in Agriculture and Oil Palm plantation, and System Integration.
MIMOS Semiconductor Sdn Bhd and Sage has signed up a Memorandum of Agreement to commercialise MIMOS Talent Development Framework and its state-of-the-art facilities for the benefits of E&E industries.
Both parties have agreed to work together in research and development, and intensify training activities, boost personal skills as well as exchange knowledge in current and new technologies.
iTrain and MIMOS will together run the “Certified IoT Specialist” training programme for the Asian market, including Malaysia, which will spur the creation of a talent hub for the IoT sector.
MIMOS partnered with the Malaysian Examination Council to add further value to the education ecosystem and academic fields; essentially through the joint development of digital assessment technology.
Data analytics can boost forecasting efficiency, operations and performance. Collaborative efforts through this partnership would see MIMOS’ expertise in Big Data technologies becoming more relevant across various sectors of industry.
The Singapore-based company is digitalising real estate, and MIMOS is building greater expertise in Big Data technologies. The collaboration marks MIMOS’ early venture into Big Data Analytics for the property sector.
