From 14 September until 27 September of 2023, MIMOS has received many academic visits from universities and schools, both at local and international levels.
Aside from being the Centre of Research Excellence, MIMOS also provide services and shared facilities. Hence, the main purpose of the visits is to divulge students to experience the latest technology in the industry that MIMOS caters to.
Student visits to MIMOS
Some local institutions that participated in the visits included Politeknik Tuanku Sultan Bahiyah, Kulim; SMK Datuk Mohd Yunus Sulaiman, Johor; Pusat Latian Teknologi Tinggi (ADTEC); Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM); Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM); and Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM).
International institutions also partook in the visits like the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology, Japan (NICT). In addition, Computer Science undergraduates from India Universities also visited MIMOS as part of the India-Malaysia Youth Exchange & Study Programme hosted by the Royal Commonwealth Society (Asia region) and the Audacious Dreams Foundation on Global Understanding for Sustainable Development.
The objectives of the visits are mostly to provide first-hand exposure to cutting-edge semiconductor manufacturing processes, insights into the fabrication lab for wafer testing, exposure to integrated circuit fabrication processes, power electronics, and mobility, and wafer fabrication lab visits to generate discussions.
