On 5 October 2023, the Brazilian Embassy with the assistance of the Malaysian Science and Technology Information Centre (MASTIC) organised an online webinar titled, ‘Brazil-ASEAN & Semiconductors: Unveiling Synergies in the Global Youth’ held on Microsoft Teams.
The primary objective of this event is to foster and promote potential synergies between Brazil and Malaysia in electrical and electronics (E&E) and semiconductors.

The webinar invited eight distinguished speakers from various corporate organisations from both local Malaysian companies and international entities from Brazil.
Amongst the invited is MIMOS’ principal researcher, Dr Lee Hing Wah who gave a 10-minute presentation on ‘Malaysia: A Dialogue on Research and Development (R&D)’.
In his talk, he underscored MIMOS’ key role in the semiconductor industry, emphasising efforts on IC Design, Fabrication, and Advanced Packaging to name a few. Dr Lee Hing Wah also disclosed MIMOS’ enthusiasm to collaborate with industry players for increased market access and future technology development.
