On 18 and 19 September 2023, the Institute of Nano Optoelectronics Research and Technology (INOR); University Sains Malaysia (USM); Universiti Teknologi MARA, Pulau Pinang (UiTMCPP); National Nanotechnology Centre (NNC); Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation of Malaysia (MOSTI); MIMOS Berhad; and Collaborative Research in Engineering, Science & Technology (CREST) had jointly organised an international expo and conference to discuss semiconductor materials and its technology with the theme “Innovation Towards A Sustainable Tomorrow”.

The 3rd International Conference on Semiconductor Materials and Technology was held at Shangri-la Rasa Sayang Resort in Pulau Pinang. It aims to create a compelling medium for institutions and industries alike to exchange ideas, knowledge, and expertise in the fields related to Semiconductor Materials and Technology.
MIMOS’ expert, Dr. Lee Hing Wah Pioneers HVST Vision for Malaysia’s Semiconductor Future
As a representative of MIMOS, Dr Lee Hing Wah, principal researcher, was invited to deliver the keynote ‘Catalysing Malaysia’s Semiconductor Industry Development with High-Value Semiconductor Technology (HVST) Research & Innovation’ where he underlined MIMOS’ role in exploring strategies to propel Malaysia in the Electrical and Electronics (E&E) value chain through HVST to foster sustainable economic growth and realise the nation’s aspirations.
The conference was attended by 170 industry players, academics, scientists, researchers, and stakeholders from around the globe, including Japan, Austria, Germany, South Korea, Singapore, and India.
Also attended was MIMOS Kulim who managed the exhibition that concurrently occurred during the event.
