In an interview with Money Today, a prominent South Korean publication, Dr. Saat Shukri Embong, Acting President & Group Chief Executive Officer of MIMOS Berhad, highlighted Malaysia’s ambitions in quantum computing, highlighting the launch of the MIMOS Quantum Intelligence Centre (QIC) and its partnership with SDT Inc. of Korea.
Dr. Shukri stated, “The launch of the Quantum Intelligence Centre marks a defining moment in Malaysia’s technological evolution,” and emphasised QIC’s mission to accelerate breakthroughs in quantum computing.
He also underscored Malaysia’s strengths, including its solid R&D foundation, world-class infrastructure, and strategic policies, as well as its position as the ‘hub of East Asian Data Centres.’
Regarding the partnership with SDT Inc., Dr. Shukri described it as a ‘game-changer,’ explaining, “By joining forces, we are building Malaysia’s own ‘Quantum Valley’, a vibrant hub of innovation and talent.”
He concluded by reinforcing MIMOS’s commitment to driving innovation, stating, “Quantum intelligence is the future, and Malaysia is ready.”
