MIMOS was honoured to host a distinguished delegation from Xiamen University, China at our facilities on 13 December 2024.
Led by Prof. Zhang Rong, Chairman of the Xiamen University Council and Member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the visit marked a significant step in strengthening Malaysia-China relations, building upon the G2G (Government-to-Government) Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in April 2024. Discussions were aligned with Malaysia’s National Semiconductor Strategy (NSS), emphasising collaboration on key semiconductor initiatives such as advanced packaging, wide bandgap semiconductor materials, advanced nanomaterials, and opportunities for joint international grant applications.
This engagement reflects MIMOS’s vision to create an ecosystem driven by dynamic Malaysian firms and world-class talent while partnering with global entities to compete regionally and globally based on innovation and creativity. By fostering knowledge transfer and collaboration, we are contributing to Malaysia’s efforts to become a regional leader in the semiconductor industry and accelerating innovation-driven economic growth.
