MIMOS, under the Ministry of Science, Technology & Innovation (MOSTI) announced a strategic relationship with SGI (NASDAQ: SGIC) aimed at empowering the local research community with High Performance Computing (HPC) and strengthening Malaysia’s advanced computing and grid capabilities. SGI installed in October, HPC and storage infrastructure built around an SGI® Altix® 4700 system that positions Malaysia as one of the largest HPC users in the ASEAN region and MIMOS as the National Grid Computing hub for Malaysia.
