UMT Holdings (UMTH), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with MIMOS Berhad to develop the East Coast High-Performance Computing Data Centre (ECHPCDC).
The ECHPCDC will be developed by UMTH, in collaboration with strategic technology partners such as 10CS, Ruijie, Lenovo, and NVIDIA on UMT-owned land at the Bukit Kor Campus in Marang, Terengganu. The centre will provide high-performance computing capabilities, leveraging cutting-edge technologies in Big Data and Artificial Intelligence.
The ECHPCDC will be the first data centre on the East Coast. It will be fully commercialised by UMTH on a pay-per-use basis using Device as a Service (DaaS), Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS) models.
As a strategic partner, MIMOS will assist in identifying and providing the necessary expertise for the development of the latest technologies in Big Data and Artificial Intelligence in the planning of the East Coast High-Performance Computing Data Centre (ECHPCDC).
