Position Purpose & Summary:
To ensure the efficient and effective development, enhancement, and maintenance of SAP systems, focusing on creating and optimizing reports, interfaces, custom functionalities using ABAP programming, and integration with external systems.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Technical Specifications
- Understand and prepare functional and technical specifications.
Report Development
- Develop and enhance reports in Project Systems, Finance, Procurement, and SAP HR using ABAP programming.
- Create and maintain reports for asset status.
Interface Management
- Create and maintain RFCs for interfacing between SAP and other systems.
- Integrate SAP systems with external systems.
Custom Enhancements
- Add custom fields to BAPI using enhancements.
Debugging
- Utilize debugging techniques such as breakpoints to troubleshoot SAP standard programs.
Technical Guidance
- Provide technical and functional guidance to staff.
- Assist in unit testing and review ABAP program codes for errors.
- Maintain and update existing program codes.
Defect Analysis
- Conduct defect analysis and perform necessary fixes and enhancements.
Collaboration
- Work with functional owners, architects, and other personnel to develop dynamic and flexible systems to meet market demands.
Technical Documentation
- Develop technical specifications and estimations for projects.
- Ensure compliance with programming and documentation standards.
Problem Resolution
- Investigate and resolve problems to meet Service Level Agreements.
Support & Training
- Provide support, advice, and training to staff
Relevant Work Experience
- Proven experience as an ABAP Developer.
- Experience with SAP modules like Project Systems, Finance, Procurement, and HR.
- Experience with integration of SAP systems with external systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- SAP Certified Development Associate – ABAP with SAP NetWeaver.
- Other relevant SAP certifications.
Technical/ Functional Skills
Technical/Functional Skills:
- Proficiency in ABAP programming.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of RFCs and BAPI customizations.
- Ability to develop technical specifications and documentation.
- Understanding of the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) model.
